About
Objective
“Finding inspiration from the celebrity world.”
It seems almost like a counter-intuitive statement. I try to navigate my way through the gossip, rumours, and paparazzi to find the real meaning and message behind the tabloids.
The celebrity world is simply fun, from music to movies to TV to modelling, something draws us to the entertainment, the drama, and the beauty behind it all. I’m intrigued by the artistic nature of the whole world, and the quirky personalities that dominate it.
With the seemingly inexplicable celebrity world as the backdrop, I am attempting to bridge the gap between my two central inspirations: science and spirituality. We all have that gut ‘intuition’ or we tend to act ‘from the heart,’ in fact it is these acts of passion and emotion that dominate the headlines of People or Entertainment Weekly. I try to dissect these actions using both scientific inquiry and lessons in spirituality to find the common, unified meaning behind it all. And in doing so, I hope I shed a little bit of light of how both the brain and soul ultimately dictate those actions coming from the heart.
Influences
I consider myself a scientist from every sense of the word. The process of inquiry, analysis, reasoning, and logic is all very fundamental to the growth of knowledge and ideas. I am currently pursuing a degree in Integrated Science to develop the skills to be able to understand the world a bit more clearly.
At the same time, I consider myself very spiritual. I believe largely in the quest for self-actualization and the requisite tumultuous journey to attain the path. I gain much inspiration from doctrines within the schools of Buddhism and Hinduism, and am open to learning about other cultures and sources of philosophical thought.
History
Beginning as more of a pet project in the summer before university began, I saw my friend Adam begin a blog, and it seemed like a great way to get some of my ideas out there and to create a personal diary of sorts.
The discussions are influenced heavily from late-night conversations with my friend Nitnav about girls, the future, and life as a whole. I realized the use of popular media, which I am so deeply connected to, was the perfect vehicle to express my views in a topical and relevant manner.
I’ve faced a few long hiatuses while adjusting to first year university – and taking a break while developing my former business, but now the blog is back in full force.
